CAMP WEEKS: 2012 SEASON
We invite children to join in the farm fun at FarmWonders this summer! The theme of each individual week will be learnt through a variety of exciting recreational activities, crafts and hands-on science experiments. Each week will include a forest hike, a visit with our farm chickens, a workshop by one of our Farm Friends and a special harvest lunch on our last day of camp!
FarmAdventures: out of school programs - Registration opens Monday, February 6 at 6am!
SpringFarmers
SpringFarmers offers a hands-on, farm-based after-school education program for 8 to 13 year olds designed to give children a science-based approach to land, food and community. Children work in small, collaborative groups with community volunteers to sow, grow, harvest, and eat crops they grow in the Children’s Learning Garden at the UBC Farm. Opportunities to explore other parts of the farm are included. Participants engage in the environment through all of nature's cycles, learning what nature has to teach through the seasons. Each visit of the program corresponds with a theme. Pre- and post-visit materials will be included for most visits to support families in exploring these visit themes in more depth at home or in the community. Please note that SpringFarmers runs from 3:45pm to 5:45pm on the visit dates listed with each program.
